John Abres Tabor       Obituary for John Abres Tabor

John A. Tabor, 75, passed away peacefully at home with his family, on Saturday, March 21, 2020, in San Jacinto, California. He was born on August 11, 1944 in Hemet, California to his parents, Al and Irma Tabor. After graduating high school, John went on to serve in the U.S. Army in 1962. He met the love of his life, Irene, in 1964 and they later got married in October of 1965. They spent 54 wonderful years together. John was an amazing and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked as a foreman for San Jacinto Valley Cemetery for over 40 years. When he wasn't busy working, John enjoyed fishing, wood-working, and machine work. He also treated himself to a gambling trip when he could. John was a social person with a quiet and caring demeanor. He was an amazing listener and had the biggest heart, which was willing to help everyone. John will be missed by all of his family and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Shirley, Bobby, and Carol and his daughter, Jennifer. John is survived by his wife, Irene, his children, Colleen Tabor, John (Lori) Tabor, Tom (Lisa) Tabor, Jim Tabor, and Christi (Dan) Wilson, his sisters, Dolly (Mike) Burden and Pat Silva, 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a large loving extended family. A Celebration of Life for John will be announced at a future date.

I thought life was forever
But it wasn’t meant to me.
I’m growing old and tired
“And God is calling me”

I hate to leave my loved ones
For they have shared my pain.
But I’m ready now for Jesus
“I heard him call my name”

I feel His Hand upon me,
He’ll guide me through it all.
In Blessed Peace, He’ll hold me,
“I’m answering His call”

Don’t grieve for me,
My Dear Ones,
For I am now Heaven Blest.
God Knows that I am weary,
“He’s called me home to rest”
