Diane Schlachter Boss

I was a very shy young lady when I started my freshman year at Hemet High School in the fall of 1959. We moved to Hemet that summer from Woodland Hills and honestly, I thought my Dad moved us to the end of the world. My sisters, Merle and Nancy, weren't too thrilled about the move either. The weather was so hot and there were gnats that flew around your face and drove you crazy. I

graduated in the Class of 63 but should have been in the Class of 64. My Mom registered me into 1st grade at the age of 5 so I was a year younger than everyone else. After awhile, I began to enjoy living in Hemet and going to school at Hemet High. I dated John Egbert who was on the football team. We married right after graduation and had our son Scott in the spring of 1965. I've been attending the Class of 63 reunions and have really enjoyed them.....it's so great to recall old times and how the valley was back then.
