ALAMOSA—Fort Garland resident Alan Edwards, 66, died June 12, 2012 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa.

Alan was born in Fullerton, California the son to Lewis and Myrtle Annin Edwards. He married his wife of more than 44 years, Sue Molloy in Hemet, California on January 21st of 1968.

Alan worked for more than 25 years as a truck driver and transfer driver. During his career he traveled all over the United States enjoying the many sights along the way.

He had a very loving and caring relationship with his wife and they enjoyed the last 11 years together living in Ft. Garland. As a hobby Alan had a talent for painting miniature lead figurines and collected hundreds of them.

He is survived by his loving wife Sue of Ft. Garland; his son John Lewis Edwards of Escondido, California; his grandchildren: Brent Edwards of California, John Alan Edwards and Scott William Edwards, both of Tennessee; his sister Lois Chamberlain of Henderson, Nevada and one niece Sue.

His parents and his brother Eldon Edwards preceded him in death.

Cremation was chosen at his request and services will be held at a later date.
